I love teaching about space. My favourite ever art activity involves paint and slices of 3D styrofoam balls which are used to create amazing space collages when teamed with marble run paper and tin foil.
I also couldn’t help but share this little gem. It’d be the perfect addition to a school science kit which everyone can access. Packed with goodies, these planet & stars kits are a hands-on way to teach space in your classroom! It even ships for FREE through Educents at the moment. It is definitely worth signing up for if you haven’t already done so. I use it more than any other website.
You can check out the kit here – but hurry as the special won’t last long!
I also love this little gem created by Living and Learning Outside the Box. My Year 5 class never liked cursive handwriting or handwriting lessons in general. I’d do everything from jokes to finishing off sentences and proverbs. I wish I had these sheets when I was teaching out space unit.

If you’re all set for resources but need some new ideas or background info, head on over to http://www.teacherplanet.com/resource/solarsystem.php and check it out. So handy for extra info which you can use to add to any of the downloadable resources you can already find!
